The Child Therapy Institute offers two-year training programs for MFT and LCSW interns as well as PhD Candidates. Training focuses on basic skills in child therapy including play therapy, sandplay, expressive arts therapy, and working with parents and outside agencies.
The ideal candidate has graduated from a qualifying masters program and is highly motivated to see 6-8 clients per week. Although CTIM provides a basis of referrals from MediCal and other sources, our most successful interns collaborate with the agency in creating visibility and professional relationships within the community.
