Miriam Rubino, LMFT126411
Miriam Rubino is a bilingual Spanish/English LMFT at The Child Therapy Institute in Marin County and the East Bay. Miriam provides bilingual, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive therapeutic services to a diverse range of clients and families through an integrative approach including evidence-based practices, Expressive Arts Therapy, EMDR, and Mindfulness among others. Miriam holds an MA in Counseling Psychology, concentration Expressive Arts Therapy, from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
Previously, Miriam worked at several non profits such as Parent Services Projects, Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco, and the Liberation Institute in San Francisco, CA. Her portfolio includes individuals, couples, and children, many of whom have experienced trauma, homelessness, and/or witnessed community violence.
She incorporates existential/ humanistic and attachment lenses through Evidence-based Expressive Arts and Play Therapy in her work with adults and children. Prior to her graduate work, Miriam worked as an expressive arts educator in elementary schools in the Bay Area. Before moving to the U.S., Miriam worked as a youth advocate and mentor implementing art activities for peace and conflict resolution programs, and as an art therapy facilitator in drug rehabilitation residential programs in East Africa.
When not offering therapy, Miriam can be found forest bathing, reading, hiking, doing yoga, art, journaling, or dancing.

My name is Graham, and I am an Associate MFT at the Child Therapy Institute. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I have been working with children in various capacities throughout my adult life, as a coach, teacher, tutor, and now therapist. It is an honor to be able to support the children I work with in their unfolding and growth. In addition to my work with children, I am also passionate about working with adults, particularly men and those who are struggling with anxiety and chronic illness.
In my free time, I like to play soccer, body surf, read, and hang out with friends and family.

Jeff Sloan is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working with the Child Therapy Institute in San Rafael. He has a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology – from California State University, Hayward, a Master of Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance from St. Mary’s College of California. He is also a certified restorative justice practitioner and mediator. Jeff is currently the executive director of the Early Childhood Mental Health Center in Richmond, CA. For the past 25 year he has managed and directed trauma informed human service community-based organizations that impact children and families, foster and emancipated foster youth, incarcerated and formerly incarcerated folx. Jeff and Eva, his partner of 30 years, have 4 amazing adult children and a beautiful grandson.

Alejandra Gomez-Vasquez, also known as Alex/Ale, is a proud Mexican-American, native of the Bay Area since birth. She is fluent in both Spanish and English. She is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, at the Antioch office of CTIM. She is currently finishing her M.A. in Holistic Transpersonal Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. She has worked with both elementary-aged children and high school-aged teens in school settings and religious education setting. She has run groups of dance and drama in her time at the schools, additionally to organizing weekend retreats for her teens in her religious community. She enjoys hiking at her local hills (Black Diamond Mines). She enjoys all forms of art (music, painting/drawing, theatre, and dance) and reading. She’s also a huge Disney, and superhero fan.

She received her MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy from California Institute of Integral Studies. Fabiola was raised in Marin and the East San Francisco Bay Area. She identifies as Latina, Salvadoran-American, and a first generation college graduate. Most of her work experience has been providing services to children, youth, and families from immigrant communities in school-based and community-based non-profit settings. She is a visual artist that also integrates play, movement, drama, storytelling, and mindfulness into her therapeutic practice. Fabiola believes in the power of play and expressive arts as transformative tools to move toward healing and agency. She is grateful and excited to be part of the CTIM team supporting children, teens, and their families.

Melinda Perales is a Registered Psychological Associate at the Child Therapy Institute in Contra Costa County. Melinda offers an empathetic and directive approach. She works with children undergoing various challenges, including anxiety, depression, school issues, social skills, and behavioral problems. Melinda believes that through a child’s eyes, there is magic everywhere, and it’s important to help them see the rainbows hanging out in rain clouds.
